UV radiometer and UV dose meter calibration quotation checklist
To assess the correct method and the feasibility of an accredited service, identify the exact instrument configuration and the quantity to be calibrated. This checklist applies to UV curing, laboratory and inspection applications.
Instrument identification
- Manufacturer, exact model and serial number
- Detector or probe model and serial number, including interchangeable heads
- Firmware/software version where results depend on processing
- Relevant manufacturer manual or spectral response datasheet
Requested measurement
- UV band or wavelength / full source spectrum; note the distinction between UVA, UVB, UVC and UVV
- Irradiance (W/m², mW/cm²), radiant exposure/dose (J/m², mJ/cm²) or another measurand
- Calibration points, expected range and preferred reference-source technology (mercury lamp, LED, etc.)
- Measurement geometry, detector orientation and illuminated area
- For integrating meters: exposure time, conveyor speed or time-profile requirements
Certificate and acceptance criteria
- State whether an ISO/IEC 17025-accredited calibration is required
- Specify any tolerance limits and whether a conformity statement (pass/fail) is needed
- Agree the decision rule, including guard band if applicable, before the work
- Provide shipping country, preferred turnaround and any special handling needs
Accreditation note: Accreditation is limited to the laboratory's currently approved measurement quantities, ranges, methods and uncertainties. The requested combination must be assessed before confirmation.
