How to ship a spectroradiometer safely

Professional optical instruments are sensitive to shock, contamination, moisture and incomplete accessory sets. Correct packaging protects the equipment and prevents delays.

Before packing

Export configuration and correction files.
Record model, serial number, software version and accessory serial numbers.
Photograph the instrument and contents before closing the case.
Remove loose batteries when transport rules require it.
Clean external optics only with an approved method.

Include with the shipment

Power supply, required cables, telescope or diffuser, fibres, integrating-sphere interface, control computer only when essential, current certificate and a printed contact sheet.
